Surprise Proposal & Engagement Photos at Encinitas Meditation Gardens
A Quick (Important) Update
Before I share this beautiful session, I do want to note that photography is no longer allowed at the Self-Realization Fellowship Meditation Gardens in Encinitas, CA. I’m so grateful I had the chance to capture proposals and engagement photos here in the past — it truly is a special place.
If you’re planning a Surprise Proposal or Engagement Photos in Encinitas, don’t worry. I know so many incredible coastal and garden-style locations that give you that same peaceful, romantic feeling. I’m always happy to help you choose the perfect spot and design something meaningful.
Self-Realization Fellowship Meditation Gardens
The Encinitas Meditation Gardens are tucked along the cliffs in beautiful Encinitas, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Giant trees, quiet pathways, koi ponds, and those sweeping coastal views… it’s one of those places that instantly makes you pause and just breathe it in.
When photography was permitted here, it was such a dreamy setting for a Surprise Proposal and Engagement Photos session. The light filtered softly through the trees, the ocean sparkled behind the cliffs, and there were so many little tucked-away corners that felt intimate and private.
But what really made this location special wasn’t just the scenery — it was the feeling.

Designing a Surprise Proposal That Actually Feels Like You
Anyone can pick a pretty location.
What I specialize in is helping you create a proposal that feels intentional and personal — not staged, not awkward, not rushed.
When I work with someone planning a surprise proposal, we talk through everything:
-
Where your partner will feel most comfortable
-
The timing (because light and privacy matter!)
-
How you’ll naturally walk into the moment
-
Where I’ll be positioned so it stays discreet
-
What happens right after you hear “yes”
At the Encinitas Meditation Gardens, the peaceful energy made it easy for couples to relax. That calm atmosphere allowed real emotion to come through — the nervous smile before getting down on one knee, the hands covering her face in shock, the laughter through happy tears.
Those are the moments you can’t recreate. And those are the moments I’m always watching for.

Engagement Photos That Feel Like a Memory — Not a Photoshoot
One of my favorite things about combining a Surprise Proposal with Engagement Photos is that once the big question is asked, everything shifts.
The nerves melt away.
The smiles get bigger. The way you look at each other changes.
Instead of stiff posing, we lean into movement — walking along the coastal paths, sitting together on a bench overlooking the ocean, soaking it in. I guide you just enough so you feel confident, but I always leave space for the real stuff to unfold naturally.
My goal is never just “pretty photos.”
It’s creating something you’ll look back on and immediately feel again.
The beginning.
The excitement.
That exact season of your life.
