One of the questions I hear most often is:
“When should we schedule our newborn photos?”
The ideal time is during your second or third trimester. I’ll reserve space around your due date, and once your baby arrives we’ll choose the exact day.
For the session itself, I usually recommend photographing babies within the first 7–14 days. During those first couple of weeks, newborns tend to sleep more deeply and naturally curl into those cozy positions everyone loves.
That said, if your baby is already a few weeks old, don’t worry. Beautiful newborn portraits are possible well beyond those first two weeks. Every baby is different, and I always work at your baby’s pace.
Why Choose a Studio?
Those first weeks at home are exhausting. Between feedings, diaper changes, and very little sleep, the last thing most parents want to do is prepare their home for a photo session.
My studio in Carlsbad Village is designed to make things easy. Everything is ready when you arrive, so you can simply settle in and enjoy the experience.
I photograph newborns using a natural, baby-led approach. Rather than elaborate props or complicated poses, I focus on simple, timeless portraits that keep the attention on your new baby and the connection with your family.
The studio is warm, quiet, and comfortable, giving us a calm environment where we can take our time without feeling rushed.
When Should You Reach Out?
The best time to contact me is while you’re still pregnant so I can reserve availability around your due date.
Already had your baby? Please don’t hesitate to ask. If I have room in my schedule, I’m always happy to fit in last-minute newborn sessions.
